Education: Dr. Woods, a board certified psychiatrist with over 20 years experience, attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore and completed her psychiatry residency at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. She was on the faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at Thomas Jefferson University, has taught family medicine residents at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, PA and has taught family medicine residents locally at Ventura County Medical Center.

Experience: In addition to her faculty position at Thomas Jefferson University, past positions have included Medical Director, Outpatient Services, Abington Memorial Hospital Department of Psychiatry; Medical Director, Family Based Services, Abington Memorial Hospital Department of Psychiatry; Medical Director, Ventura County Behavioral Health; and she is currently the president of Sterling Care Psychiatric Group.

Getting to know Dr. Woods: Dr. Woods has been a long-standing advocate for whole-person care, and is a practitioner of tai chi and kung fu, which has given her an appreciation for multicultural perspectives on health.
